The Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the EU has been established in 1963. The Delegation used as its chancellery until 1986 a building located on Avenue Louise. From 1986 to 2011, for 25 years, the Permanent Delegation shared the building located on “Rue Montoyer” with Turkey’s Embassy to Belgium and Consulate-General in Brussels.
In parallel to the progress achieved in the accession negotiations with the EU, the staff working at the Permanent Delegation has increased. The Permanent Delegation moved to its current chancery, a new and more spacious building, in May 2011.
